So...for those getting refunds....how do you intend to spend it on (photography-wise)? As for me, it's still a toss-up between the F6 (I'm film guy), D70s or the fully-sick AFS 70-200 VROOOOM.
Just ordered my 70-200VR & TC17 from our guru, then stopped off at Vanbar and picked up a 679B monopod & 234 swivel head to compliment the above items.
Still got cash left so will put it towards my next item on the list which is a wide angle lens. In the process of selling spare bits to make up the final cost. I love spending money! Nikon F80D, FM2n

Hmmm maybe a SB800 or a big huge lens.
Birdy Got any end of financial years deals I'm wondering why a choice of a TC17 is chosen over a TC20E for the 70-200VR Ben Yu

Selling photography gears are not my main business so no End Of Financial Year Sale
The TC-20 is too soft in low light and photos quality is not in my favour, f stop is increased higher than the TC-17, not well recommended to team with the 70-200VR, on the other side the TC-17 is just good with the 70-200VR, produced excellent and clarity photos. Should not part it with the 70-200VR Birddog114

I'm sure one of our members has the F6 and he's just acquisted one of the D70s too, it seems to me not so many favour leading to the F6 btw. Should be D90 or D200! Time for the D100 replacement comes out of the closet Birddog114
VNAF, My Beloved Country and Airspace
Yeah I can't agree more. F6 is way too much $$ at the moment for me to justify getting one. It's just this stupid NAS you know...
Judging by Nikon's product cycles, I doubt that Nikon will release another dslr this year. Presuming that D70 is D100's replacement of course.
I clarify: the D70 is not the D100's replacement. Birddog114

I don't think the F6 looks quite as good as the F5, honestly.
And my tax refunds? Hopefully a violin. (And maybe a lens... lol.) Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

What lens are you going to use with the TC? Birddog114
VNAF, My Beloved Country and Airspace
Hi Birddog,
well, you see I am getting paranoid about taking the 70-200mm VR with me and also the weight of the gear. Being on my feet all day with several kilos of gear in hot and humid conditions ?! I'm honestly contemplating to get a 70-300mm "travel lens". Trip has been paid for and tax return is coming up. So I thought a cheap travel 70-300 or the 24-120 VR would be fine. Oh well, I can't make up my mind - do I need to take the 70-200 VR with me ? Any thoughts are welcome. Cheers, CD
One 70-300 for sale on this board.
If I go I'll take the 70-200VR for sure! Birddog114

Re: Not much...
You're lucky! Last year I had to pay them. Maybe I should find an accountant who is more creative. Tom
Bah! Apparently I ticked some box when I first signed up for uni that allows the ATO to automatically take out a substantial portion to my HECS :S So no lens for me

Not if you get the 80-400. My travel kit for our trip will be the 24-120VR, 80-400VR, and hopefully, I'll have my 12-24 by then. g.

Well, I don't get a tax return but I had originally put dibs on my mans so I could buy a macro lens, a tripod and head, and maybe some other "stuff"depending on how clever the tax agent got this year........
....but then he went and got me a computer and I felt guilty and I said I would put the money against a loan... ....damn and blast. So no fun toys for me after all (I hate it when I get the guilts) Deb "Sometimes when you are sad Poko, it's good to hug the monkey."
