:x How long to wait for ebay payments...?

Postby jdear on Sat Jul 02, 2005 6:35 pm

My auction for a nikon accessory ended 10 days ago. Since then there is no sign of $$ or any contact from the german bidee. He / she / it didnt contact me even for postage costs ontop of the auction bid price.

How long should one wait before relisting / reporting it as unsold / offering it to the second highest bidder?

I did send a polite email asking WHAT THE FREAK IS HAPPENING???

cheers,

JD

JD - let Ebay know as they will charge you for the sale (that did not happen). Ebay will try to contact the buyer and if there is no result you will be credited the charges they charge you on the sale.

most I deal with require you to make contact within 3 days and payment within 7, or you get bad feedback.

Jdear,

If you haven't received payment or email from buyer go here and report "Report an Unpaid Item Dispute".
That should get them going. :D

Cheers.

10 days is well and truly long enough. Consider the deal a dud and go again. BTW what was the accessory?? I'm a good ebayer.

Your winning bidder has negative feedback for failing to communicate with the seller and make payment. Follow-up comments on the two items state that the bidder eventually made payment.

i've had afew buyers like that. Generally they are casual users who probably only check their e-mail weekly. Send a few more escalating notes then contact ebay. They are very good at resolving issues.

on another note...

I recently had my ebay account hijacked and had 6 15,000 plus items listed and sold and payments diverted. When I couldn't log in I contacted ebay. They researched the problem and tracked down the guy and he was actually arrested. ebay was very good at reversing all the fees (in the thousands) and making things right.

good luck

wow thats some story andy...

I got an email the other day from the bidee...

Hallo and excuse please. I will buy it and pay it next week by paypal soon as possible.
Thanks, Fritz

Probably as you said, only checks his/ hers email once a week or something.

Thanks for your input! Ill be sure to have a disclaimer in my next auction re: terms of payment and payment period!

Once you lodge a "non Paying bidder" claim with ebay you then have to wait another 10 days for the bidder to reply before ebay will reverse the charges.

I said in another post - "how long to wait for ebay payments" that I was waiting for paypal to clear funds... ("This item is pending payment through paypal")

nearly been a month since the auction was finished... (19th June)

I checked my account this morning... no sign of funds... checked MyEbay and found...

eBay Note: This user is no longer registered on eBay.

HUH???

I think ill cancel the whole darn thing and relist it...
Unfortunately Ive opened a unpaid dispute, only to close it again, because I looked like payment was coming... So ive paid the listing fee...

What a complete pain in the a$$ this has been!

disillusioned,

JD - still notify Ebay as to what has happened - you should still get the money back that they have charged :D
