Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Hello all
I recently had some of my 35mm slides scanned at my local Kodak digital lab. I can't say that I am overly impressed with the quality, but I guess you get what you pay for.
All of the following were shot handheld with a Nikon FM on Fuji Velvia with a variety of crappy lenses.
The first one was taken from high on the Tasman Glacier in New Zealand. We had been pinned down by a storm for a couple of days and as the storm cleared in the late evening, these amazing clouds caught the sun. The mountain in profile in the background is Mt Cook (Aoraki)...
Out and about in cold conditions (check out the poor rope management!)

This is in the 'Bugaboos', Canada. This is a dream location if you are a climber - thousands of metres of vertical granite....

The cloud formation in the first image is amazing... The shot of you on the peak, wow what an amazing place... Must have been a great experience...

Great images.......... but remind me never to go on a bush walk with you as I would never make it to the end.......mountain climbing you are on you own..... if god wanted us to climb mountains helicopters would never have been invented.......

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone...
The 35mm slides are much sharper than these images, particularly the first one where the peaks seem a bit soft.
BP - helos were invented to get climbers closer to the action! 
(Having said this, there is a very vibrant discussion raging at the moment about climbers use of helos to access New Zealand's alpine areas at the moment. There are strong arguments for and against. Europe is a different matter with easy rail access to incredibly high places, but I have yet to climb there)

An adventure begins...
Gecko the Sherpa
Carrying a much larger load than usual to establish a base camp...
This load consisted of: Ropes, iceaxes x 2, crampons, helmet, protective clothing, an array of rock climbing anchors, mountian dome tent, stove & fuel, food for 10 days, sleeping bag and sleeping mat and of course some photography gear!
Of course, this sort of behaviour is not good for your knees!
Once on glacier/snow the load can be turned into a sled and towed behind.
Whens our next walk BP????
