How good is this lens.

Hi
I have the opportunity to purchase a second hand 80-200 f2.8 Af-D Nikon lens. Is this considered to be a good lens? I'm thinking to use it for sports and maybe adding a teleconvertor to gain more length. What do you experts think?

On behalf of the 80-200 owners, I say: it's an excellent gem from Nikkor.
Tack sharp and constant 2.8. can't go wrong with it.

Jeff, just as a price check, member MCWB has one for sale at $600. I agree with Birddy's comment on the lens. Be aware most Nikon TC wont AF with this lens, will have to third party for AF

Glen when you say third party do you mean a Keno TC.

Third party would be a non-Nikon TC. Take your pick.
