 Re: Micro Nikkors
I have the 200/ f.4 and fozzie has one. KP has the 70-180/f4 On the 200: - Solid built as with " full metal jacket". - Great longest macro lens with excellent quality - One of Nikkor legend "macro" glass. - It ain't cheap! On the 70-180 - Great zoom "real" macro, flexibility, great glass, produced excellent quality of macro shots. - Price ain't cheap Birddog114

 Re: Micro Nikkors
The 70-180 micro is a dandy of a lens. For most macro and close-up work, I doubt that it has an equal. Being a true macro zoom throughout the range, it's a wonderful lens. It also can substitute for a normal zoom that will be as sharp as anything out there. The significant difference in favor of the 200mm, will be that the 200mm will have much more working distance than the 70-180. my gallery of so-so photos

 Re: Micro Nikkors
KP, Agreed! price of it, is another factor for people look into. For some one doesn't have a macro lens and want to start macro's fun, then it's, some may have other macro lens in Tamron, Nikkor, Sigma as 60/90/105/150/180/200, they might save their dough for for a proper fast zoom lens. Re: Micro Nikkors
I guess that I don't know how much the Nikkor 200mm micro costs. For some reason, I thought it was around the same price as the 70-180. my gallery of so-so photos

 Re: Micro Nikkors
It costs more than the 70-180, but then as I said in previously post. I know only two Nikkor 200mm micro lens owners on this board. Birddog114
