Adding bordersI would like to add border to my shots similar to some I see in this form.
 I have PSE3 and PS7 but so far I have not been able to do it. Any help would be appreciated. Barry D700, 50 1.8, 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 70-200VR, 80-400VR, SB800 plus a lot of gadgets
 hi barry
if you go to this address http://www.atncentral.com/ you will find actions that put borders around your pics.... just need to find the one "you" like cheers rob
As a complete novice to PSE, how does an 'action' such as one that adds borders actually work? How do you 'make it do it's thing?'
I have just downloaded a zipped file to take home with me to try, but I'm not sure how to go about actually using it.... Any advice would be appreciated.... Thanks Gecko
All I can say is, don't get carried away with them. Just a nice thick black bar around the photo. I personally don't use them on principle. If you feel like you have to though, just a thick black bar. Borders can get so annoying and geeky.

Dave There's something wrong with being geeky Peter Disclaimer: I know nothing about anything. *** smugmug galleries: http://www.stubbsy.smugmug.com ***
Also try going to ---- Image - Canvas Size - type in width 1 height 1 in black then do the same but this time type in say 5 width 5 height then change the colour to white , also make sure you change it to mm
Hope this helps Kevin sorry that should be white first then black Last edited by mitedo on Fri Aug 12, 2005 7:12 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Only when the photo becomes an overloaded geekathon and not a photo. Otherwise I geek out as much as the next.
Mitedo, that's what I do and was about to post that tip when I saw you already had.
I usually work with a background layer though and duplicate the layer at each stage so that I can change the colors once I've created the borders if I feel the need. Darryl (aka Kipper) Nikon D200
