internal Serial No in CF cards?

Postby Matt. K on Fri Jul 29, 2005 12:20 pm

Does anyone know if Compact flash cards have an internal serial no? And is there a way I can read/record it?
TIA

Yes, it's, on the edge of the card, opposite the side of the row of pins.
If you can't find it, I'll do the "workshop" tomorrow

Sorry, this is the external not the internal of the CF card

My guess is that some of the would, but you'd need some low-level software, like the disk recovery apps we see, to access this data.

I'm not in a position where I can test this out at the moment, but If someone prods my memory this evening I should be able to check a few cards out.

Of course, your question begs mine - why do you want to know?
