Some great images in this comp. Along the lines of what PW was saying, not being offended by the voting scores of your entries. For those who entered and at the end perhaps find out why someone voted really low on your image - it was me! Sorry, but I was extremely cruel to quite a number of them in voting...

There are some entries which were outstanding images, but related poorly to the theme as I interpret Cartier-Bresson's definition of "Decisive Moment" to be. It may have been an over reaction on my part, but I judge fulfilment of theme first, and the image second. This means that a technically flawed image that fits my interpretation of CB's definition of the theme I scored higher than maybe a great image which didn't fit the theme as well.

Some may have interpreted the theme as wide ranging and fairly open - well, I'm not one of those people. I took the theme in the photojournalistic sense of what I thought Cartier-Bresson meant by it. Sorry, don't take it personal... ;)

I second that, Onyx. I must say I did not enter myself simply because I could not get a theme related image. Out of presented entries, I could probably only relate 2-3 images directly to the theme and may be another couple indirectly.

about 40 Votes per image now.... Still VERY close! Less than 0.5 seperates 1st from 6th....

Interesting voting trivia for today:
3 people think the the 6th placed entry should be framed and sold...
6 people think... "Its a picture"

:)
Talk about divided opinions!!!

Especially if we can get the streaming going... imagine the speeches that'll be said... if we can get some form of IRC going... we'll be able to have someone say it for you!

Well.. that's a long call... but hey... it's a hope!

Like I said, "if"...

But we have high expectations that we'll be able to rig something for it this weekend, especially with the help of wireless broadband...

I'm going to do some testing with a Flash Streaming Server as well as VLC... we're just going to try it.

If it doesn't work, we'll record it and put it online for Sunday or late Saturday night, but working on getting it streamed even in a thumbnail size with decent audio - just some level of streaming - is the target. :)

I just found this....I think its the best understanding of The decisive moment I have come across.

Cartier Bresson was the supreme master of the decisive moment – capturing a split second of human behavior with meaning, and then integrating that moment into a geometrically inspired composition that intensified the meaning of the story.

I feel like something's missing.....perhaps we need people hanging around with leaflets asking "Hi, who are you voting for today ? Take this, it will show you how to submit your votes"......

Maybe the federal gov. should start holding their elections online ??

Whoops...sorry. Can't believe I just turned this into a political event...

C'MON everyone....only 9 mins to go :)

You might trash talk my picture and then I'd have to work out what yours was and downvote it.. ;)
