life just goes on in West London.....

Just home from shopping in Portobella road just one block from the latest police action, life just goes on as if it was not at all happening. Police cars with sirens and helicopters overhead along with a bank up of traffic on one or two streets was the only disruption that I noticed but there would be more disruption in other areas. Portobella road was filled with a mixture of locals and tourists and quite busy for a Friday.
Lets hope this Police action helps stops the bombing of innocence people

Been watching the story unfold on BBC and Sky news - let’s hope it is one of the bombers

Don't forget that us Brits have a stiff upper lip and a huge resolve in times of adversity, and it's been much worse than this in England in years gone by.

Life will go on, we will not be dictated too, by anyone.

Indeed. On the plus side, IRA has resolved not to use violence to propagate its agenda anymore.

Must be about time for the Notting Hill Festival in Portobello Road. Now there is something for street photography.

Don't get too settled about the IRA problem. On the news here (Sydney) yesterday Paisley was still in there stirring it up. Peace will only ensue if people are fixed in their resolve not to snap at the bait he dangles before them.

How come I have said that? I love the thought that a forum like this is a haven AWAY from the murk and mire of politics and strife. Oh well, what's done is done.

...... some of the Notting Hill Festival floats start outside my sons house, and I am looking forward to the event, and a chance for some good subjects for photography, but not looking forward to being on a direct flight home the next day after said event.......

Saddest thing that ever happens in my life is that trip to Heathrow and leaving.
