Let's hope $2500 to $3K with kit lens. Or plus a vertical shutter release.

Do you think this will bring down the price a bit more on the D2x

Oh my check out this thread:

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read. ... e=14359530

It has Thom Hogan's reply in it!

Some things he said:

-Sharpness/ pixel quality go further than Canon 20D
- optional MB-D200 vertical grip with full controls
- LCD size: 2.5" (!!!!!!!!!)

I'm sooooo getting the D200!

Mitedo: it may or may not, depending on the final spec of the D200. Based on Nikon's history of film bodies, the D200 is not a pro-spec camera. So in theory it shouldn't harm the sale of D2x which is a pro body. It's the classical F5 versus F100 issue.

The thread starts out with a speculative post, and Thom's posting is just what he'd like to see.

It's not even vapourware at this time.

yawn.

I'm betting on the belief that Thom has inside information.

But you're quite right - all speculations til announcement.

Thom is just another Nikon enthusiast IMO. His speculation is no better or worse than any others. Looking at his predictions for past years, it seems he gets as many right as he does wrong.

Not to quench your enthusiasm, I'm looking forward to the D200 release too. :)
