Hmmm, not a bad response. I think there's a trick to dealing with Maxwell... 1 day after a phone call my D70 mysteriously gets repaired and ready! ;)

Wendell, and anyone else who may still have items waiting at Maxwell holiday inn, give 'em a call. The sooner you call to enquire about your case, the sooner they get around to repairing it! :D

I suspect they use a random number generator for the bill however. $600+.

Glad your camera came back to life, did they tell you what was wrong with it? Was $600 the cost of replacing the shutter system? And any clue as why it broke down?
