Instead of saying it's impossible, why don't you go to NSN and check out all the people there that use large lenses with teleconvertors handheld.

As I said, if it can't be done with Nikon lenses, perhaps there is a problem with Nikon gear and maybe I should just change over to a better system.

Kipper,
The other side is always greener than this side. Jumps ship? why not? wish you luck!

Glen maybe she does, but that's not the point. The point is, people here are saying that it's not possible to handhold this lens and get good results.

Look, I'm not saying it's greener but you're indicating that is by saying that getting handheld results with this calibre of lens isn't possible, when I already know it is with competitor lenses.

Ok, Ok, Ok, maybe posible with you and not with me! I played with it few times and I'll have it soon. So I know my abilities. I've done with the 200-400VR and I knew what I'm talking about the weight, the force and the ability of handholding the big lenses.

Look I totally agree that you couldn't spend the whole day with your eye looking through the viewfinder focused on a subject.

But if you get a few shots off in < 30sec. Then move on to the next subject then it's quite possible in deed.

Birddog, out of interest what is the total cost of the AFS-II, btw I mean total.
