Aust. Rally Championships - Melbourne

Hey all, the ARC Melbourne event is coming first weekend of Sept.

I was just wondering if anyone else was going to go? If so, maybe meet up?

They've put some of the details for the rally on their website. Mainly maps for the different stages.

The cost was about $37 for a weekend pass.

Mudder, not sure if you're interested in animals of the 4 wheeled variety?

I wouldn't mind going if I'm free that weekend...I don't have a tele that has enough reach tho.

I'm not going to do what those crazy idiots did during the Group B rallies...people seeing how long they could stand in front of the car and jumping away at the last minute...that's just dumb.

Tele does help, means you can take the shot and get out of the way :)

What lenses do you have?

70MM or upto 100MM should get you if you're positioned right some fiarly decent shots. It won't be a tight car shot but maybe more of the car in it's environment, for instance car over hill with spectators either side?

Think I'll get a 77MM UV Filter for this event. Do they make bullet proof ones? I don't fancy a stone going through my lens.

Also will have to get some carry bags cut up to go around the body of the camera and the 70-200VR for dust protection.
