No worries Glen I'd like to be twenty years younger and twenty kilos lighter. However, they are as likely to happen as me giving you a 70-200VR (geez, I'd like one of those too. I am lens lusting ) Greg - - - - D200 etc

Birddy, you are a bastard!! You keep on tempting me. Or this might save Greg some money when he buys me a Christmas present
ps Greg, like Kristine I am 5'11", have worked in IT and have been in a pub, does that help?
Me too. Greg, that's a whole heap of 70-200s you're going to need to buy. OTOH, my 80-400VR is on its way over here right now. SHould be in my hands sometime late tomorrow. g.

Gary, nice purchase! Christmas present for yourself after Leigh's D70 birthday present?
Greg, this could be a great chance you are letting go to ingratiate yourself with the Sydney chapter. Sure you dont want to change your mind? I'll even take you to the Midnight Shift when you are in Sydney.
Glen, Greg,
Yes, something like that. At the moment it's sitting in FedUps in HGK; it missed yesterday's flight 'cos they picked it up too late. g.

According to FedUp's tracking info, mine isn't yet on the plane ... But if they do fly together, perhaps they could join the mile high club and deliver a bonny little pair of 12-24s for us. g.

Gary You'll be impressed with the 80-400 VR. I have used it a few times and it works great from a tripod with a couple of 2x convertors fitted. That makes 2400mm of focal pull. Regards

Matt,
I've had a play with Birddog's and yes, it's most impressive. I guess that, when using a couple of TCs with the lens, using sportsfinder mode comes well into its own. You certainly wouldn't be able to see too much through the looking glass. g.

G I'd like to get a 70-200mm 'G' lens @ AU$1825 for Xmas birddog. It would look great on my new tripod, so I wonder if my off spring would buy it for me - I don't think so!. I must be dreaming again!

Hi Birddog
I was just curious about the price as I have only just started hearing about this lens. I am still considering the 70-200 VR that you recommended. Which lens do you feel is better? If I decide on a lens, can I place my order through you (if this is ok)? Cheers Kristine
Yep! by own means Birddog114

IMHO the 70-200 VR is a much nicer lens.... But as you can see by the price tag you pay for it!
