Help me & YOU win a d70s

Postby darb on Tue Aug 09, 2005 7:36 pm

Time for a blatant plug!

2 of my photos were published in the sunday times (a WA newspaper) "amazing pictures competition"

Anyway, the winning photograph wins a d70s, but also one lucky voter gets to win one aswell (drawn out of random.)

If you feel like parting with 55 cents and increasing my chances aswell as registering yourself to win, please call 1900 969 663. Quote Photograph "41", and then leave your name and number. (not compulsory, but youre mad not to..)

There's another "part 2' magazine this weekend coming, not sure if any of my pics feature in that or not.

Brad, you could have helped me in the last challenge by voting my image as "awesome frame it". Why didn't you? I lost by 0.04

Nah, good luck, hope you get the D70s, many of your shots deserve to win

Good point, was being assumptive. Is it the same photo as you had in challenge 5 in the papers comp?

Mate, you pop up all over the web :D

Finally got my D70s sorted pretty much as per your instructions...colours and contrast all pop nicely with min PP. Great for jpegs but as you know Im a RAW shooter (sorry NEF!!!)...but still great to finally get it sorted.

Oh...yep, done the phone thang for ya as well, good luck (gonna give T your D70?)

dont believe tehre's any limits to the amount of votes a single person can make. Ive voted a lot more than once! Its all income for them I guess.

escapism : good, im glad my advice worked. Which curve did you run with? Agreed NEF sits atop the hill, though i still shoot jpeg for sports or stuff i know wont require much work or isnt too special (like wakeboarding snaps, or skiing snaps ill be taking THIS WEEKEND. :) )

darb: after close to 1000 test shots (my finger hurts) I settled on the old school Optima curve, with sat enhanced and hue at -3. Like I said tho, thats really only for "party pics"...most other shots are NEF.

You seem to bring snow...will this be 3 years in a row that you have arrived just after/during a dumpathon?

Oh...did I mention I have 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days to go till I stop working for 18 months to do nothing other than surf??????

yeh i know, funy thing is its been doom and gloom forecasting each year until just before we go. 2003 wasnt so lucky ... the first week was dump city, but the 2nd week rained etc ... i was nackered and had a bung knee anyway so wasnt too stressed about it.

Last year ... that was superb, fresh every morning. The wind and vis was bad, but you cant complain.

and hey, when you can get out to go skiing, might aswell start the drinking games ? :)

You're assuming my integrity can be bought for a new D70s. You're such a great judge of character!

My vote is in! Great shot BTW.
