Afternoon walk to darling harbour

Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Went for a walk to Darling harbour today and took a couple of snaps. As always, critique and comments encouraged and welcomed.

Matt, I find 2 & 3 really interesting. No Four looks like it could win a challenge, or did you steal the idea from that bloke which robbed everyone of a 50 1.4 in a previous challenge? :lol:

Great images Matt - the first two make everything seem cold, I guess it is winter! I like the last one best! U must like looking into the sky between two buildings? :)

Matt while I also like #1 - #2 is a standout. The composition is good - nice candid - and you've really nailed the B &W superbly.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

What can I say about looking up into the sky between buildings? I love it. There isnt the height in London so I gotta get where and when I can :D

As for #2 being illegal!! It's borderline isnt it. I was actually taking pics of the guy walking and that kid just ran in and sat there :wink: :D
He looked so serene just sitting there reading. I got a couple more of him but he looked up and saw me.

Great shots Matt... MattK did a great one of the spiral a while back that you might want to compare to...

As for #2... It is not illegal. Absolutely not and hopefully never will be. You should not feel guilty about taking it or similar photos...

I took a similar candid at a local rugby match recently... I thought it was cute... The parents saw me and didn't mind at all...

Matt the last shot is great on a trip to Hong Kong / China a few months ago i took a few shots like this they look great in B&W, i also like the shot with the flags good work
