Walk in the botanical gardensHi guys
Beautiful day today so took a walk in the Botanical gardens. Would appreciate critique on these shots guys. Cheers Matt
I prefer #2 as it seems to tell the whole story.
#1 (to me) fells like the crop is too tight #3 looks like the little boy is about to have a "decisive moment" Dave

......nice pix's.....number3 did you get a model release form signed and was the shot taken out of school hours as there is a child involved......
......just goes to show how silly all this copyright thing can get..... but I am getting more information re copyright during the week and I will post when received...... with the writer's permission...... Cheers ....bp....
Difference between a good street photographer and a great street photographer.... Removing objects that do not belong... happy for the comments, but .....Please DO NOT edit my image..... http://bigpix.smugmug.com Forever changing
Matt,
#1 looks a little oversharpened to me... #2 is much better... #3 is a nice innocent image... Cheers, John

I like #2 a lot though I've seen a similar photo with same coloured tulips before

Come follow the rabbit hole...
I'll pay that one! I think #2 gives a better sense of height compared with #1. They're all attractive shots, though. Chuan
Thanks for the comments guys.
It's interesting to see what the general consensus is. I prefer #1. I like #2 but I was present at the shooting and PP so I think I must just be closer to it. I need to hone my "consumer eye" I think - taking pictures which other people will find pleasing too. Thanks again guys. Cheers Matt
Nice shots, Matt. #1 is my fav.
As for critique, both flower shots seem a little too yellow to my eyes. #3 was a tough shot in the harsh light. It seems a little soft and the background is very busy. I think I'd like it better if the background were OOF from a wide aperture. my gallery of so-so photos

I'd like to join the late trend to #1. For me I really like the angle of view with the blooms framed against the sky. In #2 I find the two very tall tulips distract me from the shot. The stems dominate, rather than the bloom.
Having been to the same spot a week earlier I'm bummed I didn't have the brains to lie on the ground for a shot like this. Peter

#2 is great - unusual perpective, brilliant colour & sky.
I really like #3 though, because it captures the human spirit. Well done & thanx for posting TFF (Trevor)
