Greetings and thank youHi Everyone,
I'd like to introduce myself, I'm Craig a self confessed computer geek currently living and working in Sydney. I've always had fun taking photo's be it candid snap shots or more artistically framed photo's or portraits. However until recently I've never had the tools at my disposal to achieve what I'd like too. After having a short play with a mates Canon EOS 300, I had my eyes set on getting myself a digital SLR, however my wife had other ideas. However on a business trip recently I picked up a Nikon D70 a few lens and some other bits and pieces, the upside being I now have the tools to take the photo's I'd like, the bad being my wife was quiet upset Anyways, this weekend I stumbled apon your website, and have been crusing it ever since, I love seeing all the fantastic photos and it is really inspiring. Also I can't tell you how useful it is to read the tips and tricks and learn more about the camera and how to take better photo's. (Its already helped, after I saw a few of the 70-300G shots of the moon, I froze my butt off outside trying to replicate them) I haven't mastered it yet, but I did see a 200% improvement over my first attempts before reading the forums. So in short, I'd just like to say Hi, and I hope I can learn alot and improve on my technique and skills, and even contribute some photos perhaps. Thanks, Craig

Well after seeing a lot of the shots posted up here, I'm not really that confident about sharing my photo's, but I'm still learning so I'm sure the criticism will be helpful. I am sure attending a meet would be very useful, so I'm definitely interested (I still have to justify the expenditure with my wife) Should I use the other forum to share any of my photo's ? I've already uploaded a few on PixSpot. (Oh and call me Craig or Alpha_7, I was forced to add the D70, when I screwed up registering for the website).
Welcome Craig
this is a fabulous community and you have yourself a great new toy. The moon shots are fun, when you feel up to it post some.....they truly can't be any worse then some of my attempts. Have fun Deb "Sometimes when you are sad Poko, it's good to hug the monkey."
Craig We are all different levels of ability both artistically and technically here. Don't be frightened to share your images good or bad here. If they're bad we'll say so nicely and suggest how to make them better. If they're good we'll probably say so too, then suggest ways to make them great So far as your forum name. PM one of the admins (gary or nnnnsic) and I'm sure they can fix your name for you. Peter

Hi Marvin,
Thanks for the welcome. It's interesting knowing that other people have the same equipment it really inspires me to know, with pratice, skill and a bit of luck I could pull of something similar
