I need to purchase the expensive Sensor Swipes for a friend who doesn't want to muck about with pec-pads (must be rich or crazy ). According to Nulabs in Melbourne, they are the one people who import the stuff into Australia... Suggestions please?

Well! it's the only place in this island where he can buy, Sensorswipes or Pec*Pad are the same, nothing difference, if he has money to burn then tell him go for it.

Just because NuLabs say something, and your friend believes them, doesn't make it so.

Tell your friend to order the Sensor Swabs, if he must, directly from OS. It's way cheaper than NuLabs, even though they've actually dropped their Maxwellish pricing structure for these items.

Tell your friend to also order some Pec Pads while he's at it.

And bring him down to Birdy's for a quick nip of Eclipse.

Heath, having experienced the joys of doing a wet clean, both with sensor*swipes, pec pads, eclipse fluid and a sensor spatula, the first three from Nulabs. I can tell you this. Don't buy the sensor*swipes, they're a load of shit and waste of your time for researching and your friends for attempting to clean his sensor with them!

Get a spatula, either home made or from Copperhill and some pecpads and eclipse fluid. The swabs aren't rigid enough and given the state my sensor was in I pretty much used all 10 of them on the bloody sensor. Then I had to buy a spatula anyway.

Read my post on sensor cleaning, I think it's probably one of the longest threads here, and one of the most amusing.

Hmmm...cleaning the sensor is definitely something I'll have to learn. Don't need to clean it just yet but the day will surely come.

Yeah kipper I understand > have already cleaned about 3 D70s and 1 istD, it is just this friend wants the pre-made ones.

Just come to the mini meet and learn the way of DIY, it's simple, you do it once and you'll do it as many times you want after.

The best thing is never try the wet method prior to use the dry method.

Some dust bunnies are just on the CCD, couple blows of the Giotto Air Rocket and they will be gone, unless they got stuck on the CCD then the wet method should be used.

I've recently purchased the Sensor & Mirror Tip brushes (on Ebay).
Anyone using these? , I've yet to test them out.
